Pendleton, Shelbyville win HHC titles

RUSHVILLE — NEW PALESTINE - The Lady Arabians of Pendleton Heights and the Golden Bears of Shelbyville won the HHC cross country title at New Palestine.

For the girls, Pendleton was first with 26 followed by New Palestine 54, Mt. Vernon 82, Greenfield-Central 105, Yorktown 117, Delta 119, Shelbyville 222 and Rushville 224.

For the Lady Lions, Monica Dougherty finished 36th in 23:37. Michaela Orme was 44th in 24:57. Megan Clifton finished 46th in 26:52. Sarah Ford was next in 47th with a time of 28:03. Leah Noe finished 51st in 30:04.

For the boys, Shelbyville took home the conference title with 50. Greenfield-Central was second with 73 followed by Yorktown 86, Mt. Vernon 94, Pendleton Heights 111, New Palestine 125, Rushville 145 and Delta 219.

For the Lions, Dalton Miller led the way with a 10th place finish in 17:41. Ryan Fogg was 20th in 18:03. Josh Clifton took 36th in 18:47. Kenny Nigh was 42nd in 19:05. David Fogg crossed the line in 48th in 19:18 and Austin Dwenger was 53rd in 19:43.

In the junior varsity race, L.J. Conrad was seventh in 19:17. Michael Ford was 43rd in 22:19 and Zach Roszell was 54th in 24:11.
