Photo finish in Mt Lawn Legends race

RUSHVILLE —  In what some called a tie, scorers Scott McCambridge and Tim Rogers who were situated directly above the start finish line in the scoring tower gave the win to Kyle Donahue of St Louis Mo. over second place James Edsall of Indianapolis by mere inches in the Legends feature.  Donahue started fifth and took the lead on the very first lap.  Edsall who started at the rear of the field moved into second place on lap 18.  The two ran nose to tail the next 6 lap and it appeared Edsall was going to settle for second when on the final lap he ducked under Donahue exiting the short turn and just fell inches short of pulling off the win.  Aaron Holden of Greenfield finished  third followed by Ed Black of Mooresville, Tony Holden of Greenfield, John Robbins of Frankton, Eric Black of Greenfield, Jarrett Alexander of Dayton Oh, Marty Griffin of Indianapolis, Mark Dietzen of Anderson and Gerad Miller of Dayton, Ohio.  Fast time went to Miller at 17.724 with Edsall and Alexander winning the heats.

In the Bandolero division Alan Edsall of Indianapolis took the feature win over Reid Goyert of Cold Springs Ky, Ian Sexton of Lexington Ky, and Jacob Purkey of Hebron Ky. Edsall also won the heat.

Jason Thompson of Shirley won for the third time this year in the Van Hoy Oil Thunder Car division taking the lead from Jacob Wyman of Selma on lap two and leading the rest of the way.  Thompson did get pressure from Brandon Mefford of Spiceland who ran second the final 28 laps.  Kent Carson of Richmond finished third followed by Bill Pierce Jr. of New Castle, Wyman and Chris Bolyard of Rushville.  Thompson made a clean sweep of top honors by setting fast time at 17.160 and winning both the heat and pursuit race.

The Van Hoy Oil Hornet feature went to Chris Jennings of Richmond.  Rayce Sayer of Greenfield led the first two laps when Terry Neal of New Castle got around him and led the next 4 laps.  Nick Pollitt of New Castle passed Neal on lap seven and led until Jennings got around him on lap eleven.  Larry Hughes Jr. of Greensboro  finished second followed by Pollitt, Neal, John Massengale of New Castle, Rodney Sutton of New Castle, Mark Jennings of Richmond, Sayer, Joe Jennings of Richmond and Adam Lee of New Castle to round out the top ten. Jennings was fast time at 19.204, Sutton won heat #1, Mark Jennings took the win in heat #2 and Chris Jennings won the pursuit race.

In the 5 and under Big Wheel race Billy Orcutt IV of New Castle was the winner with Aidon Sheeley of North Carolina second and Corbin Muliis of Greenfield third.  6-7 year old division the winner was Mathew Orcutt of New Castle, Dominick Padilla of New Castle and Thatcher George of New Castle third.  In the 10 and under division Dustin Hill of New Castle was the winner, Lauren Guffey of New Castle second and Jacob Martin of Anderson third.
