The Lady Lions got a look at possible sectional opponent Batesville in softball action. The Lady Lions used a 3-run third inning to knock off the Lady Bulldogs 3-1.
The Lady Lions got a lead off single by Catie Liggett to open the bottom of the first inning. With two outs, Taylor Hoeing singled, but the Lady Lions were unable to plate any runs.
In the bottom of the third, Jessica Wilson started the inning with a walk. She moved to third on the single by Liggett. With one out, Riley Lanham singled in both Wilson and Liggett to give the Lady Lions the lead. A two-out single by Shelby Woods scored Lanham to make it 3-0.
The Lady Lions threatened again in the fourth with a double by Tori Colestock and single by Shelbie Brown, but the Lady Lions could not add to the lead.
Batesville scored one run in the sixth on a double by Liter, single by Dreyer and a Rushville error. Rushville added two more hits in the sixth - singles by Woods and Brooke Niehoff.
