Lady Netters blank Triton Central

RUSHVILLE — The Lady Lions shut out visiting Triton Central 5-0 in tennis action.

“I thought the girls played well after a weather-induced four day layoff. It’s always nice to get a win across the board,” Coach Heuer noted.

Allison Wainwright won the No. 1 singles match over Michele Garner 6-1, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Rosella Troyer defeated Brittany Miller 6-2, 6-3. At No. 3 singles, Sarah Harpring topped Miliken Guy 6-2, 6-1.

The No. 1 doubles team of Jill Yager and Casey Yager defeated Sarah Smith and Lauren Marcum 6-1, 6-4. At No. 2 doubles, Nici Martin and Lucy Dyer defeated Mackenzie Scott and Hannah Troutt 6-1, 6-1.

In junior varsity action, Haley Riddell won 6-1. Katie Schroeder won 6-1. Sarah Schombert won 6-1. Sarah Hershberger and Breanna Ison won 6-0. Bridgette Welter and Abbey Whitaker won 6-0. Larissa Dunn and Riko Itakura won 6-3. Natali Miller and Courtney Hall posted a 6-0 victory. Kelly Lee and Samantha Fowler won 6-2.

The Lady Lions are now 2-2.
