Pirates shut out Lions on courts

GREENSBURG – A talented Greensburg Pirate tennis team welcomed Rushville to their home courts Thursday and then shut out the conference foe 5-0.

“We anticipated a strong showing from a senior laden Greensburg and we got it. We’re pleased with our kids’ effort for the most part. We were a little more competitive than we might have expected, especially at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. We’ll chalk it up to another valuable learning experience for us,” Coach Heuer noted.

At No. 1 singles, Jake Fowler lost 6-0, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, Paul Hershberger lost 6-0, 6-2. Will Hogsett was defeated 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
