BRMS sports physicals
Physicals for BRMS athletes will be offered from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Rush Memorial Hospital Medical Office Building (110 East 13th St.) on May 29. The cost is $15 and physical forms must be signed by a parent in order for physical to be performed.
The RCHS JV softball team traveled to Franklin County Monday and came home with a 9-6 victory over the Lady Wildcats.
The locals started strong, plating six runs in the top of the first. Loggan Hewitt singled, went to second on a walk to Maddie Owen, then Kenzie Woolston scored both runners with a single. Woolston then scored on a single by Keely Springman, followed by Madi Whitaker, who reached on an error. Springman scored when Morgan Knecht reached on an error. Whitaker and Knect scored when Jasmine Cook reached on an error before Franklin County got out of the inning.
Franklin County scored two runs in their half of the first, but the Lady Lions answered with two of their own in the top of the second.
Owen started the inning off with a double, and scored on a double by Woolston. Woolston then scored on a ground-out by Springman.
Franklin County was held scoreless for two innings, and the Lady Lions added another run in the fourth as Woolston singled and scored on a fielder’s choice by Springman. Franklin County scored four in the bottom of the fifth, and the game was called for darkness.
Emily Herbert went the distance on the mound for the locals to get the win.
