Gymnastics team scores soar

RUSHVILLE — The Lady Lion gymnastics squad reached a new height Monday with a team score of 98.025. That was easily the best score of the year for the Lady Lions and was good enough to knock off visiting Shelbyville, which finished with a total of 88.675.

For the Lady Lions, Kylee Elleman was first in the all-around with 33.925. She scored 8.3 for third on vault, 8.65 for first on bars, 8.6 for first on beam, and 8.375 for second on floor.

Mariah Fenimore was second in the all-around with 31.875. She scored 8.5 for second on vault, 7.95 for third on beam and 8.625 for first on the floor.

Destiny Scott was third in the all-around with 31.725. She scored 8.25 for fourth on the vault, 6.9 for fifth on bars, 8.55 for second on beam and 8.025 for third on floor.

Katie Egielske was first on the vault with her score of 8.5 and fourth on the bars with 7.1.

Marisa Hall took fourth on the floor with a 7.975.

The Lady Lions host the Rushville Invitational Saturday.
