RUSHVILLE — The Cubs’ seventh-grade Red basketball team defeated Greensburg 35-31. Leading the Cubs was Cole Carmony with 13 points, 11 in the fourth quarter. Adam Leising added nine points. Rufus Noe had five. Jenson Wood finished with four. Sam Spilman and Lane Hornberger both had two points.

The Cubs travel to Shelbyville Saturday for a tournament.

The seventh-grade Black rallied from a 10-point deficit, but could not get over the hump and fell to Greensburg 39-31. The Cubs were led by Owen Wiles with nine points. Noe had six points. Landis Gettinger chipped in with five points. Crosby Jackman added four points. Zach Hoeing had three points. Carmony and Austyn Farley both had two points.

The seventh-grade Black travel to St. Louis school in Batesville for a tourney Thursday.

The eighth-grade Cubs Black fell to Doe Creek 42-38 after rallying from a 10-point deficit with two minutes to play in the game. Keith Yager led the Cubs with 16 points and Preston Bowling had 12.

The Cubs then faced Greenfield-Central and fell by eight 38-30. The Cubs were led by JC Newhouse with eight points. A balanced attack saw eight Cubs in the scoring column.

On Monday, the Cubs hosted Greensburg and were edged 41-37. Yager led the Cubs with 14 points. Newhouse was also in double figures with 10 points.
