Lady Lions win every event against Morristown

RUSHVILLE — The Lady Lion track team swept first place honors in every event against visiting Morristown in posting the 125-5 victory.

Regan Laker took first in the 100 and 300 hurdles.

Autumn Meece won three events - the 100, 200 and long jump.

Monica Dougherty swept the distance events by winning the 1600 and 3200.

Emilee Rogers won the 400.

Kylee Elleman won the pole vault.

Brooke Drake ran to first place in the 800.

Ellie Sammons won both the shot put and the discus.

Jacqueline Stevens won the high jump.

The Lady Lions also took first in the three relays: 3200 (Drake, McKenzie Conrad, Dougherty, Hope Noe); 1600 (Katelyn Buckley, Rogers, Laker, Mikayla Dougherty); and 400 (M. Dougherty, Meece, Katie Newbold, Marisa Hall).

“The girls competed at a very highly level against Morristown. I was proud to see how many of the girls improved from their performances on Tuesday. Autumn Meece continues to have a strong senior season. She has won seven out of eight events she has been in the last two meets,” Coach Jim Helsley noted.

The Lady Lions travel to Connersville today.
