Lions cruise to win at South Decatur

RUSHVILLE — The Lion track team easily took the top honors at the tri-meet held at South Decatur. The Lions tallied 111 for first place followed by South with 31 and North with 13.

The Lions’ 3200 relay team of Dalton Miller, Ashton Wilson, Ryan Fogg and Nick Zepeda won in 8:47.

Zach Turner won the 110 hurdles in :17.02 with Jeremy Hallgarth finishing in :18.99. Turner also won the 300 hurdles in :42.72 with Hallgarth second in :45.37.

Sam Beavers won the 100 in :12.06. Austin Clark was third in :12.24. Beavers won the 200 in :24.72 with Clark second in :25.25.

Miller took first in the 1600 with a time of 5:00.90. Evan Dyer was second in 5:16.06. Miller returned to win the 3200 in 11:08 with David Fogg second in 11:47 and L.J. Conrad third in 11:52.

The 400 relay team of Turner, Shawn Valentine, Beavers and Clark posted a winning time of :47.25.

Zepeda won the 400 in :52.75 with Austin Dwenger second in :55.38.

Wilson crossed the line first in the 800 in 2:16.46. Ryan Fogg was second in 2:16.86 followed by Luke Sheehan third in 2:21.96 and Patrick Duffy fourth in 2:25.62.

The Lions’ 1600 relay team of Wilson, Beavers, Zepeda and Dwenger posted a win.

In the field events, Nate Douglass took second in the discus at 103-7.

Josh Clines was fourth at 102-8.

Cody Waggoner won the shot put at 40.6 with Douglass third (37-6) and J.T. Ephlin fourth (36-7).

Hallgarth won the high jump with a height of 5-6. Zach Keim was third, also at 5-6.

Valentine won the long jump with a distance of 19-2. Keim was second at 18-5.5 and Garrett Hittle was third at 17-8.
