RUSHVILLE — The Cubs eighth-grade Red basketball team lost the home opener to St. Michael 32-28.  The Cubs got into foul trouble early and fell behind by seven heading into half-time. The Cubs quickly turned around the game in the second half outscoring St. Michaels in the third and fourth quarters. With less than one minute left, the Cubs had a chance to tie the game but couldn’t finish on the offensive side of the court.

Ryan Norvell led the Cubs in scoring coming off the bench with eight points. Isaiah Burnett added six points for the Cubs and Ethan Duncan contributed seven points. Also for the Cubs were Quadere Noe with two points, Luke Schombert with three points and Tanner Koors with two points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The seventh-grade Cubs Red team hosted St. Michael’s and fell 39-14.

Lane Hornberger and Adam Leising led the way for the Cubs’ offense scoring six points each, while Bryson Medley also chipped in with a basket.
