RCHS spring awards

The spring awards program at RCHS will be held at 7 p.m. today in the RCHS cafeteria.

Volleyball camp

Any girls in grades 7-12 interested in volleyball are welcome to attend volleyball open gym at the high school gym addition. Open gyms are held 8 to 10 a.m. on June 9, 11, 16 and 18 and from 9 to 11 a.m. on July 7, 9, 14, 16, 21 and 23.

Volleyball camp for grages 7-12 will be from 8 to 11:30 a.m. June 23-26 and for grades 4-6 from 1 to 3 p.m. June 23-25. Camp information can be found on the RCHS website under volleyball.

Colts Fan Fest

The Indianapolis Colts will host a Fan Fest from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Decatur County Courthouse, Front Lawn in Greensburg, Ind. featuring a concert by former Colts punter and his band, The Hunter Smith Band. The Colts will host Fan Fest events this summer in Greensburg, Louisville, and Fort Wayne. Colts Fan Fests are proudly sponsored by the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and the Indiana Soybean Alliance. Please visit www.colts.com/events for an up-to-date listing of locations.

Sun ride Bentley to 88-71 win over Fever

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Alex Bentley had 21 points to lead five Connecticut players in double figures and the Sun beat the Indiana Fever 88-71 Saturday night.

Bentley added five assists, Allison Hightower had 11 points and five assists, and Katie Douglas scored 15 points.

Connecticut leading scorer Chiney Ogwumike played only 19 minutes due to foul trouble. She finished with 12 points for the Sun (3-6) and Alyssa Thomas added 11.

Rookie Natasha Howard scored 14 points for Indiana (4-4) and reserve Lynetta Kizer had 12.

The teams combined for 53 fouls and 56 field goals.

“It’s basketball,” Bentley said. “You’re going to hit some obstacles, some adversity throughout games. We just have to adjust to it, and that’s what we did tonight.”

Indiana outshot the Sun, 53.1 percent to 46.2 percent.
