BROOKVILLE – On the road at Franklin County, the Lady Lion volleyball team picked up an EIAC victory in four sets 18-25, 25-14, 25-23, 26-24. The Lady Lions are now 13-11 on the season.
“I am very proud of the way the girls fought for the win. There were a few times when they could have given up, but they fought for what they wanted,” Coach Meagan Hearne said.
For the Lady Lions, Keragan Niehoff led the way for the Lady Lions with two aces, a team-high nine kills and team-high 10 digs. Allison Wainwright chipped in with three aces, six kills, one block and six digs. Brenna Hall had one dig and Carissa Comstock had two digs. Casey Yager added two kills, one block and one dig. Kayla Shelton had five kills and two blocks. Keely Springman dished out 29 assists to go with two kills, one block and nine digs. McKenzie Woolston had four aces and four digs. Tessa Hoeing served four aces and had two digs and eight kills.
On Saturday, the Lady Lions host Batesville in a make-up contest. The junior varsity will start at 11 a.m. with the varsity following. The Lady Lions are collecting donations for the Rushville Food Pantry. Fans will be admitted in for free by bringing three non-perishable items.
