---- — AURORA – On paper it looked like a miss-match and on the field it played out that way as the Lions (6-2) kept South Dearborn (0-8) winless with a 53-17 victory on the Knights’ Senior Night.

An experienced Rushville squad was too much physically for the young Knights. On Rushville’s first possession, the Lions went 62-yards in just four plays as Garrett Hittle scored from 5-yards out to give the Lions an early 6-0 lead.

The Lions found the end zone on the next possession as Hittle scored from 52-yards out to make it 13-0 with :54 left in the first quarter.

Rushville made it three touchdowns in three possessions as Zach Turner broke free for the 59-yard touchdown as the Lions led 20-0 with 9:30 to play in the second quarter.

The Lions kept the streak going as Clay Tressler rushed into the end zone for the score on the next possession. Tressler’s run was for seven yards and a 27-0 lead. That was the margin at the half.

With 10:33 left in the third quarter, Tressler connected with Austin Yurack to make it 33-0.

A 4-yard Hittle touchdown run and a fumble recovery in the end zone for another touchdown by Josh Yager had the Lions on top 46-0.

South Dearborn broke through in the fourth quarter as KJ Probst ran a kick-off back for the touchdown. The Knights were on the board, down 46-7 with 9:02 left in the game.

Tanner Anderson converted a 25-yard field goal for South Dearborn to cut the deficit to 46-10 and a 30-yard run by Josh Proctor for the touchdown made it 46-17.

Hittle added a kick-off return for a touchdown to close out the win and the scoring as the Lions cruised to the victory 53-17.

In addition to his three touchdowns, Hittle tallied 106 yards rushing and led the defense with 11 tackles. Turner led the ground attack with 171 yards rushing and had eight tackles defensively. Keith Tressler had 28 yards rushing and five tackles. Clay Tressler rushed for 12 yards, passed for 53 yards and had four tackles. Preston Bowling , Noah Nigh and Tyler Snow all had seven tackles. Tyler Turner and Zach Rickett both finished with six tackles.

The Lions round out the regular season on the road at Greensburg (5-3). The Pirates are coming off a 34-20 victory over East Central.

The IHSAA announced the sectional draw Sunday. The Lions will travel to Guerin Catholic (1-7) in the first round Oct. 25. The winner of that game will face the winner of Indianapolis Marshall (5-2) at Greensburg (5-3). In the other side of the bracket, Indian Creek (6-2) is at Batesville (8-0) and Lawrenceburg (6-2) is at Hamilton Heights (6-2).
