Fall sports practices
The RCHS Athletic Department has announced the first practice days and time for fall sports. All athletes must have a physical on file prior to starting practice.
Girls golf: 9 to 11 a.m., Aug. 2 at Antler Pointe
Boys soccer: 6 to 8 p.m., Aug. 5 at practice field
Girls soccer: 6 to 8 p.m., Aug. 5 at practice field
Boys tennis: 4 to 6 p.m., Aug. 5 at tennis courts
Volleyball: 4 to 6:30 p.m., Aug. 5 in gym addition
Cross country: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Aug. 5 at Memorial Gym
Football: 6:15 to 7:15 a.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Aug. 5 at Memorial Gym
BRMS football practice starts Aug. 5
BRMS 7th and 8th grade football practice begin Aug. 5. Practice is from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. All athletes must have a physical on file at BRMS to begin practice.
RCHS all-sports and Golden Lion tickets are on sale in the Athletic Office beginning Monday. Office hours are 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 4 p.m. Ticket prices are $50 for adult all-sports, $40 for student all-sports, $60 for Golden Lion and $180 for family plan.
Raintree tune up this weekend at Mt. Lawn
Van Hoy Oil Series Late Models and Hornets will be in action this Saturday at Mt. Lawn Speedway in what will be a tune up to the 43rd running of the Raintree 100 scheduled for Aug. 10. Late Model car count has shown signs of improvement recently and track officials are looking forward to an even better car count for the Raintree.
Street drags and pedal car races will be on the program for the 3rd. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for kids 6-10 with 5 and under free.
Practice and the grandstand gate open at 5 p.m., qualifications at 6:15 p.m. with racing getting underway at 7:30 p.m.
C. Ind. race track fighting bill for overdue taxes
ANDERSON (AP) — The company that owns the Anderson Speedway in central Indiana is fighting county officials over a $125,000 bill for overdue property taxes.
