Host Spartans sweep Lions, Bulldogs

CONNERSVILLE — Rushville and Batesville traveled to Connersville for a 3-team swim meet Tuesday. The host Spartans won the team title for the boys and the girls.

Results for both the boys and girls were the same as Connersville was first followed by Batesville and Rushville.

The Lady Lion 200 medley relay team of Fran Percell, Mekyna Hall, Abby Clark and Teagan Warner took fifth in 2:50.47.

In the 200 freestyle, Clark took fifth in 3:02.88 and Lindsey Flannery was sixth in 3:34.88. Dalton Miller had a personal best 2:19.51 in taking fourth for the Lions.

Mekyna Hall had a personal best :32.9 for fifth in the 50 freestyle. Warner was sixth in :36.51. Brooke Cameron finished in :37.82 and Jessica Schlechtweg in :38.25. For the boys, Sam Cole was fifth in :29.57 with Bradlee Gwinnup sixth in :31.46.

In the 100 freestyle, Warner had a personal best 1:26.8 for fifth with Percell sixth in 1:28.21. In the junior varsity race, Cameron finished in 1:27.66 and Flannery finished in 1:43.86. For the boys, Stone Worth touched the wall fifth in 1:02.93 and Gwinnup was sixth in 1:12.68.

Clark finished fourth with a personal best 7:57.63 in the 500 freestyle. Miller was third for the boys in 6:32.59.

In the 200 freestyle relay, the team of Clark, Mekyna Hall, Warner and Schlechtweg took fourth in 2:29.36. The team of Worth, Cole, Gwinnup and Miller took fourth for the boys in 1:59.87.

In the 100 backstroke, Percell was fifth in 1:41.61 with Schlechtweg sixth in a personal best 1:56.56. For the boys, Cole had a personal best 1:20.69 for fifth place.

Mekyna Hall finished third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:25.31. For the Lions, Worth was fourth in a personal best time of 1:20.16.

The Lady Lion 400 freestyle relay team of Warner, Cameron, Flannery and Percell took fifth in 6:07.4. The Lion team of Miller, Gwinnup, Cole and Worth finished fourth in 4:29.19.
