Lions shut out at Connersville

Rushville traveled to Connersville to take on the Spartans and fell to the host squad 6-0.

“We played better defensively than the score indicates,” Coach Bob Beeler said. “We just couldn’t get anything done offensively. According to our stats, we only took two shots on goal and you’re not going to win many matches with those few shots.”

The junior varsity Lions fell 3-1 to the Spartans. Two penalties inside the 18 led to a pair of Spartan goals.

Coach John Foster noted the solid defensive play of Ethan Duncan and Austin Boylard. Trey Newton-Gossett scored the goal for the Lions.
