Lions dominate Jackets on the track

The Lion track and field team dominated visiting Morristown 120-11.

The Lions’ 3200-meter relay team of Dalton Miller, Evan Dyer, Patrick Duffy and Luke Sheehan posted a winning time of 9:27.52 to open the meet.

Jeremy Hallgarth ran a personal best :16.64 to take first in the 110-meter hurdles. Zach Turner was in :16.97. In the 300 hurdles, Turner was first in :42.06 and Hallgarth was third in :45.28.

In the 100-meter dash, Zach Keim took first in :11.62 with Sam Beavers second in :12.10 and Keith Yager third in :12.16. Beavers came back to win the 200-meter dash in :24.02 with Ezra Griffith second in :24.52.

Dyer won the 1600-meter run with a personal best 5:00.24. Kenny Nigh was second in 5:10.18 and Miller was third in a personal best 5:15.10. Dyer also won the 3200-meter run in 11:15.77 with Nigh second in 11:24.24 and Bryce Conrad third in a personal best 11:41.01.

The 400-meter relay team of Keim, Turner, Yager and Beavers posted a season best time of :45.47 to win the event.

Josh Hodge won the 400-meter dash in :54.91 with Austin Dwenger second in a personal best :55.96 and Griffith third in :59.47.

In the 800-meter run, Duffy finished first in a personal best 2:13.54 with Sheehan second in 2:24.04 and Brett Leisure third in 2:25.83.

The Lions’ 1600-meter relay team of Turner, Beavers, Griffith and Dwenger took first in 3:51.03.

Nick Hutchinson won the shot put with a personal best 37-3 and was second in the discus with a personal best 111-6. Josh Clines was third in the discus with a personal best 103-9 and third in the shot put with a personal best 32-11.5. JT Ephlin was second in the shot put with a personal best 35-5.

Hallgarth won the high jump at 5-8 with Yager third at 5-4.

Keim won the long jump with a personal best 19-9.5 and the pole vault with a height of 12-6. Griffith was second in the long jump with a personal best 18-2 and Hallgarth was third with a personal best 17-3. Jon Seals cleared the bar at 9-0 for second in the pole vault.

Other personal bests for the day included Hunter Barnett 87-8, Ephlin 75-0, Dillon Fowler 73-4 and Stone Worth 65-5 – all in the discus; Barnett 32-5, Fowler 28-11.5 and Worth 28-4 – all in the shot put; and Isaiah Burnett 14-10.5 in the long jump.
