GREENSBURG – The Lions traveled to North Decatur Tuesday to open the track season. Despite the cool temperatures, the Lions took control of the meet and taking first place honors with a team-total 89. South Decatur was second in the tri-meet with 46 and North finished with 21.
The Lions’ 3200 relay team of Dalton Miller, Evan Dyer, Patrick Duffy and Luke Sheehan posted a winning time of 9:09.06.
Zach Turner won the 110 hurdles in :16.22 with Jeremy Hallgarth second in :17.28. Turner also won the 300 hurdles in :41.88 with Hallgarth second in :45.13.
Zach Keim won the 100 in :11.39 with Sam Beavers second in :11.45. Keim also helped the 400 relay team of Turner, Dale Clifton and Beavers take first place honors in :45.89.
Evan Dyer won the 1600 in 5:08.15 with Miller fourth in 5:22.84. Dyer returned to win the 3200 in 10:57.13 with Kenny Nigh second in 11:19.56 and Bryce Conrad fourth in 11:49.01.
Beavers won the 200 with a time of :23.56. Ezra Griffith was second in :24.11.
Josh Hodge took second in the 400 at :54.02 with Austin Dwenger third in :57.47.
In the 800, Duffy was second in 2:19.41 and Sheehan was third in 2:19.78.
The 1600 relay team of Turner, Beavers, Griffith and Dwenger took first in 3:45.25.
Hallgarth won the high jump at a height of 5-8. Keim was second at 5-6 and Keith Yager third at 5-4.
Nick Hutchinson finished fourth in the discus with a distance of 102-3.
Keim won the long jump at 19-5 with Griffith third at 17-11.
