Lady Lion swim team opens at Connersville

RUSHVILLE — The Lady Lions opened the 2012-13 swim season at Connersville against the Lady Spartans and the Lady Golden Bears of Shelbyville. Connersville won the team title with a point total of 144. Shelbyville was second with 127 and Rushville had 37.

The Lady Lions’ 200 medley relay team of Courtney Hall, Brenna Hall, Abby Clark and Autumn Meece finished fourth in 2:49.40.

Rachel Sayman was fifth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 3:06.86.

Clark took fifth in the 200 individual medley with a time of 3:45.34.

In the 50 freestyle, Riko Itakura was fifth in :40.03 and Jennifer Sorenson was sixth in :43.63.

Michaela Colestock took fifth in the 100 freestyle at 1:39.12 and Sorenson was sixth at 1:52.49.

In the grueling 500 freestyle, Clark took fifth in 8:15.40.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Itakura, Colestock, Shelbie Brown and Nici Martin finished sixth in 2:57.47.

Courtney Hall finished fourth in the 100 backstroke with Megan Clifton sixth in 2:15.83.

Brenna Hall was fifth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:40.17 with Colestock sixth in 1:53.63.

The Lady Lions’ 400 freestyle relay team of Clark, Meece, C. Hall and B. Hall finished fifth in 6:10.83. The team of Sorenson, Itakura, Martin and Sayman finished sixth in 6:52.17.
