BRMS volleyball

The seventh-grade volleyball team traveled to Knightstown and fell in three sets. Knightstown took the early lead in the first set and the Lady Cubs could not recover, falling 25-21. McKenzie Muckerheide served 13 straight points for the Lady Cubs in the second set as BRMS knotted the match with a 25-10 win in the set. A close final set was won by Knightstown 15-10.

For the Lady Cubs, Muckerheide had three aces and 15 points on serve. Betsy Muir served two aces. Brittany Kuhn, Dru Neidenthal and Kayleigh Paramore all served one ace.

BRMS cross country

The BRMS cross country teams competed in the EIAC meet at South Dearborn.

For the boys, Batesville was first with 53 followed by Greensburg 63, Sunman-Dearborn 84, BRMS 98, Connersville 109, South Dearborn 130 and Greendale 150.

“We had an excellent week of practice. With our No. 2 runner, Landis Gettinger, out with an injury, the boys stepped up and ran amazingly. Seven of the eight boys ran personal records and three of them were all-conference. The girls had six personal records with two girls making all-conference,” Coach Rick Cumberworth said.

All-conference for the boys included Kyle Schindler (sixth, 11:15), Ira Griffith (ninth, PR 11:28) and Jacob Kirchoff (10th, PR 11:30). Also for the Cubs were Austin Kirby was 32nd (PR 12:46), Cameron Humphrey 41st (PR 13:19), Errick Hayes 45th (PR 14:01), Lance Beard 48th (PR 14:18) and Noah Mullins reserve 27th (14:20).

For the girls, Greensburg was first with 34 followed by Batesville 54, Sunman-Dearborn 68, BRMS 130, South Dearborn 138, Connersville 144 and Greendale 152.

All-conference for the Lady Cubs included Charity Griffith seventh (PR 12:39) and Katlyn Keim 11th (PR 13:01). Shannon Dougherty was 27th (13:55) followed by Kiara Thorp 39th (14:32), Abby Gates 46th (PR 15:45), Megann Sasher 47th (15:46), and Kaitlyn Miller 49th (16:37). In the reserve race, Maddy Lewis was 33rd (PR 17:10), Heather Stanley 37th (PR 18:15), Macy Rolfe 38th (18:16), Jenna Geise 41st (18:22), Clara Kemple 43rd (19:14) and Brooke Leisure 44th (PR 20:41).
