EIAC hosts tennis individual tournament

---- — GREENSBURG – Greensburg high school was the host for the annual EIAC individual tournament for all-conference honors.

Rushville’s No. 1 doubles team of Brandon Slaton and Chase Hamilton won in the first round 6-2, 6-4 over South Dearborn’s Ryan Howell and Keaton Ballart.

The duo advanced to the second round and fell to No. 1 seed Greensburg 6-0, 6-1.

In the first round, Jake Fowler was defeated at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-3 by South Dearborn’s Jeff Wohlfrom. At No. 2 singles, Paul Hershberger fell 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 to East Central’s Tyler Wilson. At No. 3 singles, Will Hogsett had to retire due to injury to Franklin County’s Garrett Crowe.

The No. 2 doubles team of Michael St. John and Adam Martin were defeated by East Central’s Alex Hobbe and Phil Stenger 6-0, 6-1.
