BROOKVILLE – The Lion soccer team traveled to Franklin County for EIAC action. The Lions took the early 1-0 lead, but the Wildcats rallied for three unanswered goals to win 3-1.
Ten minutes into the contest, Derrik Justice opened the scoring with an assist from Treyton Meal.
Franklin County came back in the second half with three goals. Brett Ortman knotted the game at the 32:16 mark and two minutes later Darry Chaille scored to give the Wildcats the lead. Chaille added an insurance goal with 12 minutes to play.
“I thought we played well in the first half,” Coach Bob Beeler said.
Injuries plagued the Lions in the second half with four Lions going down to injury.
For the game, the Lions had 12 shots on goal. Frank Sammons had five saves in goal for the Lions.
The Lions host Shelbyville Saturday.
