The Lady Lion soccer team hosted Connersville on Senior Night. The teams battled for 80 minutes to a 0-0 tie. The Lady Lions are now 2-7-2 on the season.
Neither team had many chances offensively in the first half as the defenses kept the opponents in check.
At the half, Rushville honored players Mariah Fenimore, Katie Schroeder, Kylee Hickmott, Regan Laker, Nici Martin, Jill Yager and manager Kiersten Fowler and their parents. Accomplishments on and off the field were recognized during the half-time event.
Rushville’s defense and keeper Martin kept the Lady Spartans from scoring as Martin recorded her second shut-out of the season. According to the coaches, Larissa Dunn made some big plays defensively to aid Martin in the shut out.
Coach Karen Brashaber praised the seniors and wished the game could have ended with one more in the win column for the Lady Lions.
The Lady Lions travel to Shelbyville Saturday.
