Lady Lions spike Waldron in four sets

Rushville improved to 11-3 on the volleyball season by defeating Waldron in four sets 25-23, 25-13, 18-25, 25-18.

“I am extremely proud of our girls and how they played. We were put in a situation where we had to come up with a rather creative line-up and the girls responded well,” Coach Meagan Hearne said.

For the Lady Lions, Brenna Hall had one kill and three digs. Carissa Comstock added five aces and six digs. Casey Yager had one kill. Kayla Shelton added five kills, one block and one dig. Keely Springman finished with five aces, two kills, one block, 24 assists and four digs. Keragan Niehoff added five aces, 13 kills, one assist and five digs. McKenzie Woolston had two aces, six kills and three digs. Tessa Hoeing added six aces, six kills, one block and three digs.

In the junior varsity contest, the Lady Lions won in three sets 25-22, 14-25, 15-9.

For the Lady Lions, Darbi Mello had three aces, one kill and one dig. Emma Harpring added seven aces and one dig. Kayla Aldridge served two aces. Mekyna Hall had one ace and three kills. Tori Colestock had one ace and five kills. Kelly Brown finished with five assists and one dig.

Lady Lions drop to at Lawrenceburg

Rushville’s volleyball team dropped both the varsity and junior varsity contests at EIAC foe Lawrenceburg.

In the junior varsity match, the Lady Tigers prevailed in two sets 25-13, 25-7.

For the Lady Lions, Adrianna Zepeda had two digs. Cammi Miller had one dig. Darbi Mello added one kill and one assist. Emma Harpring had one kill and one dig. Fran Percell had one kill. Kayla Aldridge finished with one kill and one dig. Kelly Brown had five assists and three digs. Mekyna Hall had one kill, one assist and two digs. Tori Colestock finished with one kill and two digs.
