Girls basketball sectional

IHSAA announced girls basketball sectional draw. The Lady Lions host Sectional 29. Rushville drew a bye and will take on the winner of Lawrenceburg (which the Lady Lions beat by 49 points during the regular season) and Franklin County (only one win on the season). In the other side of the bracket, South Dearborn drew the bye and will face the winner of Greensburg and Batesville.

Tickets for the IHSAA girls basketball sectional at Rushville will be sold on the following schedule in the Memorial Gym Athletic Office. There is no reserved seating.

Thursday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – varsity girls players, managers and cheerleaders families, Golden Lion ticket holders and RCS faculty and staff that worked girls games.

Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Student and adult all-sport ticket holders and season ticket holders.

Monday (Feb. 10): 8 a.m. to noon – open sale in athletic office.

Season tickets are $10 and single session tickets (sold only at gate) are $6.

Pre-sale tickets for Friday

Rushville will be pre-selling tickets for the Lions’ Feb. 7 home game against Class 3A No. 1 Greensburg (15-1). Tickets went on sale Monday and will remain on sale through noon Friday. There will be 1,000 tickets available. For more information, contact the RCHS Athletic Office at 932-2984.

BRMS boys basketball

The BRMS seventh-grade boys Black defeated Brookville 41-17 to improve to 12-3 on the season. Duncan Draper led the team with 13 points and four rebounds. Jordan Smith added 12 points and Mason Springman had four blocks and three steals. Gage Rosenfeld also had three steals and Tyler Wilson pitched in with six points.

At Greenfield, the Cubs defeated Greenfield 31-30 in the first round of the tournament. Wilson scored 12 points to lead the Cubs. Draper added eight points, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Cameron Craig had five points. Springman finished with four points and five boards. Smith had three steals.
