Lions second, Lady Lions third at Eastern Hancock tri-meet

In the swim meet at Eastern Hancock Wednesday, the Lions edged out Hagerstown for second place by winning the final event of the night, the 400 freestyle relay. The host Royals won the tri-meet for the boys with the Lions second and Hagerstown third. For the girls, Hagerstown took top honors followed by Eastern Hancock and Rushville.

In the 200 medley relay the Lady Lions, which included Frances Percell, Abby Clark, Brenna Hall, Mekyna Hall, had a combined time of 2:42.76 to place fourth in the relay.

In the 200 freestyle for the girls, Courtney Hall placed fifth with a time of 2:51.66 and Cara Moore had a time of 3:15.01 which placed her in sixth. For the boys, Dalton Miller placed second with a time of 2:15.09.

In the 100 freestyle for the girls, Brooke Cameron placed third with a time of :33.62 and Teagan Warner placed fourth with a time of :36.52. For the boys, Bradlee Gwinnup placed fourth with a time of :32.68.

In the 100 butterfly, Sam Cole had a time of 1:08.96, giving the boys a second place finish.

In the 100 freestyle, Cameron placed fifth with a time of 1:19.83 and Moore came in sixth with a 1:25.00. The boys placed second with a time of 1:15.53 swam by Gwinnup.

In the 500 freestyle, the Lady Lions placed third and fourth with Brenna Hall having a time of 7:40.94 and Clark with a 7:51.58. The boys placed second with Miller, who had a personal best time of 6:42.58.

In the 200 freestyle relay, the girls team of Mekyna Hall, Courtney Hall, Cameron and Brenna Hall placed fourth with a time of 2:10.83. The team of Moore, Percell, Warner, Lindsey Flannery followed behind placing fifth with a time of 2:31.89. The boys placed third with a time of 1:58.24 which was swam by Stone Worth, Gwinnup, Cole and Miller.

The 100 backstroke was swam by Percell with a time of 1:31.90, placing her in third. Jessica Schlechtweg placed sixth with a time of 1:54.70. The boys placed second with Cole coming in at 1:20.08.

The 100 breaststroke gave the girls a third and fourth place with Brenna Hall swimming a 1:29.24 and Mekyna Hall a 1:29.64. Worth came in second for the Lions with a 1:22.11.

In the 400 freestyle relay Clark, Cameron, Percell and Warner placed third with a time of 5:39.31. With the win for the Lions, Miller, Cole, Worth and Gwinnup came in with a time of 5:31.82.
