Memorial Gym to host Lion Classic

---- — Basketball fans can catch a full day of basketball in Memorial Gym Saturday as Rushville hosts the first Lion Classic holiday tournament.

Joining the Lions (4-3) in the tournament will be the Centerville Bulldogs, Heritage Christian Eagles and Franklin Grizzly Cubs.

Both varsity and junior varsity teams will be involved in the tournament as the junior varsity will compete in the gym addition.

For the varsity, the Lions open the day against Centerville at 10:30 a.m. The Bulldogs are 3-2 on the season with wins over Seton Catholic, Randolph Southern and National Trail (Ohio).

In the second game at noon, Heritage Christian (2-3) faces Franklin (3-1). Heritage Christian has wins over Indianapolis Washington and Indianapolis Ritter. Franklin has won three straight after a season opening loss to Center Grove. The Grizzly Cubs defeated Greenwood, Hauser and Shelbyville.

The consolation game is set for 6 p.m. with the championship game following around 7:30 p.m.

In the junior varsity tournament, the Lions open against Centerville at 9 a.m. Heritage Christian and Franklin square off at 10:30 a.m. The consolation game is set for 2:30 p.m. in the gym addition. The championship game will be at 2:30 p.m. in Memorial Gym.

Tickets are available at the door and RCHS all-sport passes will be honored.
