EC tops EIAC foe Rushville

Five personal best times set by RCHS

ST. LEON – East Central was the host of the EIAC swim meet with Rushville. The Trojans won the team title for the boys 133-30 and the Lady Trojans posted a 123-41 victory.

In the 200 medley relay, the Lady Lion team of Francis Percell, Brenna Hall, Mekyna Hall and Abby Clark finished third in 2:41.14. For the Lions, the team of Sam Cole, Stone Worth, Dalton Miller and Bradlee Gwinnup finished second in 2:15.69.

Clark took third place in the 200 freestyle with a personal best time of 2:57.74. Cara Moore was fifth in 3:06.25 and Brooke Cameron was sixth in 3:14.82. Miller touched the wall third in 2:23.22 for the Lions.

In the 50 freestyle, Mekyna Hall placed fourth in :33.47 with Jessica Schlechtweg fifth in :38.48 and Lindsey Flannery sixth in :41.07. For the boys, Cole was second in :29.45 and Gwinnup was fifth in a personal best :31.01.

Percell took third place in the 100 freestyle with a personal best 1:23.31 with Cameron fifth in 1:31.60 and Flannery sixth in 1:41.40. For the Lions, Worth finished third in 1:03.42 and Gwinnup was fifth in a personal best 1:11.59

In the grueling 500 freestyle, Brenna Hall placed first with a time of 7:30.78. Clark was third in 8:00.80 and Moore was fifth in 8:34.82. Miller was third for the boys in 6:33.67.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Brenna Hall, Clark, Moore and Mekyna Hall took second in a season best time of 2:17.32 The Lion team of Worth, Cole, Gwinnup and Miller also finished second in 2:00.22.

In the 100 backstroke, Percell was fourth in 1:40.85 with Schlechtweg fifth in 1:47.41. Cole took third for the boys in 1:21.33.

Mekyna Hall won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:26.80 with Brenna Hall third in 1:29.80. Worth took second for the boys in 1:20.55.

In the final event, Moore, Flannery, Cameron and Schlechtweg teamed up for third in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 6:17.37.
