Basketball: Rushville vs Lawrenceburg at Greensburg Sectional, 7:30 p.m.

BRMS girls basketball

The BRMS Lady Cubs seventh-grade Red fell to Doe Creek 32-18. Olivia Vance tallied eight points, six rebounds and one steal. Breanna Carpenter added six points and six rebounds. Marissa Sullivan had three points and Emma Lux added one point. Madison Hinshaw pulled down four rebounds. Hallie Fenimore had five rebounds. Caitlin Philpot contributed one steal.

The Lady Cubs seventh-grade Black (8-2) defeated Knightstown 50-13. For the Lady Cubs, Taylor Browning had 17 points followed by Allie Smith 15, Dru Niedenthal six, Hinshaw four, Karley Yager four, Betsy Muir two and Sullivan two.

At St. Louis school in Batesville, the eighth-grade Black dropped a pair of games in the 4-team tournament, 33-29 and 42-22.

In the opener, River Paddack had 11 points. Emily Duncan added six and Becky Muir had five. Alexis Thompson scored three points. Brianna Smith and Carolanna Jessup both had two points.

In the second game, Paddack scored eight points followed by Alexis Branson four, Duncan four, Thompson two, Smith two and Jessup two.

Boys basketball sectional tickets

Boys basketball sectional tickets will be on sale in the RCHS athletic office through noon today. Season tickets are $10.

Winter awards program

RCHS will hold the winter sports awards program at 7 p.m., March 17, in the high school cafeteria.

IHSAA girls state finals

The field is set for the 39th Annual IHSAA Girls Basketball State Finals to be held Saturday at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute.

In the Class A final, Vincennes Rivet (22-4) takes on Oregon-Davis (22-2) at 10:30 a.m.

Heritage Christian (26-1) faces Ft. Wayne Canterbury (20-4) in the Class2A title game following the first game.

Evansville Mater Dei (26-1) faces Western (22-3) for the Class 3A title at 6 p.m.

The night cap is the Class 4A game between Bedford North Lawrence (26-1) and Penn (25-1) following the 3A game.
