Miller, Hittle advance to semistate

---- — RICHMOND — Two Lions prevailed at the Richmond wrestling regional Saturday and earn a berth in the IHSAA semistate at New Castle.

Rushville junior Tristenn Miller claimed the regional championship at 220 by avenging a loss from last week in the sectional.

Miller opened his day with a victory over New Castle’s Austin Walls. Miller defeated Eastern Hancock’s Josh Ramage in the semifinal 10-0 to set up the rematch with East Central’s Tyler Moore. Miller (36-8) turned the tables on Moore with a 3-1 decision to win the regional crown.

Lion senior Garrett Hittle (38-3) won the regional title at 182. Hittle pinned New Castle’s Hunter Davis in the first round in 1:14 and then pinned Centerville’s Bryce Robinson in 1:34 in the semifinal. Hittle claimed the title with a 6-1 victory over Knightstown’s Brennain Harper.

Other Lion competitors in the regional included Randy Collyer at 106, Zach Roszell at 113 and Nick Hornaday at 285.
