Lions fall to Dragons

RUSHVILLE — Despite the rainy conditions, the Lion track team faced off against New Palestine on the local track. The Dragons held off the Lions 75-57 in the battle of Hoosier Heritage Conference schools.

Rushville’s Zach Turner won the 110 hurdles in :16.20 and Jeremy Hallgarth was third in a personal best :16.42. The two Lion hurdlers repeated the places in the 300 as Turner took first in :42.30 and Hallgarth was third in :44.88.

Ashton Wilson finished third for the Lions in the 100. Wilson was second in the 200 at :24.15 with Nick Zepeda third at :24.23.

Evan Dyer ran a personal best 4:48.42 to win the 1600. Dyer also won the 3200 in 10:58 with David Fogg second in 11:43.

Ryan Fogg finished second in the 800 in 2:14.22 with Patrick Duffy third in a PB 2:18.13.

Sam Beavers finished third in the 400 at :55.15.

The 1600 relay team of Wilson, Beavers, Zepeda and Austin Dwenger took first in 3:38.33.

Joe Garland won the discus with a distance of 130-7 and the shot put with a season best 47-11. Cody Waggoner was third in the shot put with a distance of 40-10.5.

Hallgarth took first in the high jump at 5-6 and Zach Keim was third in the pole vault with a height of 8-0.
