Monday’s weather was not the ideal setting for nine holes of golf. The constant rain in Batesville made playing conditions very tough at Hillcrest Country Clubs as the Lions squared off against the host Bulldogs.
Led by Tony Narwold’s 36, Batesville prevailed over the Lions 175-183. Rushville drops to 10-3 on the year and hosts Centerville and Cambridge City Wednesday in a varsity only contest.
Rushville was led by Derick Hornaday with 42.
Tyler Bussberg was next for the Lions with 44.
Anthony Harcourt carded 48.
Ean Billman was one stroke back with 49.
Barry Swigart finished with 50 and Chris Glenn had 56 to round out the varsity scoring.
In the reserve match, Batesville won 184-200.
Batesville’s Fred White was the medalist with 41.
Rushville was led by Aaron Pike with 45.
Chris Reynolds had 50.
Donnathon Buckley was two strokes back with 52 and Nolan Scott was another shot back with 53.
Clayton Green finished with 57.
