Lion Pride VIP Breakfast

RUSHVILLE — The Vince Lombardi statement, “The greatest accomplishment is not in never failing, but in rising again after you fall,” speaks volumes. We could add to that, if your knees aren’t scraped up a bit on the journey, then you don’t understand true accomplishment. An RCHS group gathered recently to celebrate just that, a great journey and true accomplishment.

For the fourth consecutive year the Lion Pride VIP Breakfast was held at 7:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, in the Rushville Consolidated High School cafeteria.

The Lion Pride program was created by the RCHS assistant principals.

This program recognizes students for their positive achievements in attendance, academics, attitude and other improvements in general.

Prior to the breakfast, faculty and staff members were encouraged to nominate students who had shown excellent improvement in these areas. A total of 113 students were recommended to be honored at the Lion Pride VIP Breakfast.

Students and their parents or guardians were invited to have breakfast and celebrate their success. And when we say breakfast, we’re not talking corn flakes and milk! The RCHS cafeteria staff did an outstanding job of preparing sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, pastry and juice.

“We are so proud of these students and for all their hard work and accomplishments at RCHS,” stated Rob Hadley (assistant principal).

Senior Emily Hardy sums it up very well by saying, “It’s such an honor to be recognized in this way. We all work hard to do our very best in school and try to encourage others along the way.”

Emily plans on becoming a nurse and will attend Ivy Tech this fall.

This group has set themselves apart by stepping up to the challenge and were not afraid to scrape a few knees along the way. Rest assured that Rush County Schools has among their ranks future nurses, teachers and counselors who will be amazing.
