This year, the Milroy Alumni Scholarship was sponsored by the Jackman family, Dr. Robert and Karen Jackman and their family and Ann Jackman Brackett and her family. It was dedicated to the memory of Robert and Ann’s mother and father - Lois A. Jackman, who graduated from Milroy High School in 1922 and was a long-time teacher at the school, and Frank T. Jackman, who graduated from Milroy in 1919. The Milroy school tradition has continued in the Jackman family: Robert and Ann graduated from Milroy High School; Robert’s sons, Rob and Nathan, attended Milroy school, and their children have begun their academic careers at Milroy, as well.
The Milroy Alumni Scholarship is offered to an RCHS graduating senior who attended Milroy Elementary School. The candidates must have a 3.0 grade point average and proof of registration at college or university.
