The local corporate sponsors this year are Intat, MainSource Bank, Beta Sigma Phi Nu Gamma Sorority, RushShelby Energy, Duke Energy, Copeland Corporation, and Rushville Pizza King .

In addition there are many other supporters who provided manpower and other donations that are needed to make this important event possible. They are: Re/Max Elite Group, Indiana State Police, Rushville Pharmacy, Smith Implements, PU extension Office, Retired Teachers Association, BRMS Cafeteria, BRMS Custodial Staff, Former Rushville BPW, BRMS teaching staff, Midwest Ag, Farm Credit Services, Pizza Hut, Subway, Dairy Queen, City of Rushville utilities, and Shampoo Bowl.

Tianne Ripberger, Relationship Banker for MainSource Bank and organizing leader of this event, said, “I truly appreciated the community coming together to help support the Reality Store TM. This event really helps the students at Benjamin Rush Middle School get a taste of the real life financial world we live in.”

This event, on Oct. 10, gaves the students at Benjamin Rush Middle School an opportunity to see how budgeting, maintaining a checking account, and educational choices can make a big difference in their life. The students choose jobs and are given a salary. They then move to various booths set up in theory to make purchases and pay bills. The simulation of the real life experience is an eye opener for many of the students. You can hear comments across the gym… “My parents have to pay for all this?”, “I am out of money?”, “I didn’t plan on that happening to me?” In the end the students have a greater appreciation for budgeting and career choices.
