Rushville Elementary School West recently held their annual food drive. This annual drive was sponsored by the RESW Student Council.
“The timing for this food drive is important as it takes place after most holiday programs have ended. Pantries are in need year round and after the harsh winter, their shelves need to be replenished,” Mrs. Anna Jo Richards, RESW Student Council sponsor, said.
For a week RESW students brought in items to be donated. There was a daily theme that included: Monday – Hat Day, Tuesday – College/Sport Day, Wednesday- Decade Day, Thursday – Career Day, and Friday – Character Day.
The results of their efforts were outstanding as they accumulated over 40 boxes of items that were donated to a local pantry. Many thanks to all who donated and helped make the RESW Food Drive a huge success. (Marianne Scott is the Legacy Fund Director/Information Officer for Rush County Schools)
