Rushville Elementary School East recently held its annual canned food drive. For two weeks, Dec. 2-13, grades K-6 were asked to bring in canned items to donate to our local food pantry. The RESE Leadership Team (fifth grade) was responsible for counting and boxing the canned goods.
From ketchup to crackers, food items arrived at RESE and began to mount up. When it was all said and done, 1,375 cans of food were collected. Mrs. Kim Perin’s first grade class holds the honor for bringing in the most items per class – 291 cans. They will be treated to a movie and popcorn party for their hard work.
On Monday, all items were loaded up and delivered to the Rush County Food Pantry.
