A “Community” Christmas planned at Main Street Christian Church

Main Street Christian Church invites community singers, and musicians to participate in their 7 p.m. Christmas Eve service entitled “A Community Christmas.”

Persons not participating in a Christmas Eve service in their home church who have a song or solo they would like to share, who would join a duet, trio or ensemble are invited to an information and organization session at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Main Street Christian Church.

The hope of the Main Street Christian Church worship planning team is that this “Community Christmas” service would be one mainly of music, as well as Bible readings, dramatic monologue, the singing of some carols, prayer, and candle lighting. It is hoped that most musical pieces would be sacred in nature, but a few holiday songs may possibly be chosen. Most song choices would come from what individuals desire to sing.

It is also hoped that all participants would join in an opening and a closing number uniting all of these special voices together. Two total group practices have been tentatively set for Thursday evening, Dec. 19 and Sunday afternoon or evening, Dec. 22. Individual and small group practices would be held ahead of these dates and the conveniences of participants.

Those interested in participating in such a service at Main Street Christian Church are invited to the orientation/planning session on Thursday or call 932-2997 for an information sheet and interest form.
