RUSHVILLE — First Presbyterian Church

We joyfully welcome all to experience God’s grace as we follow the Light of Christ! You are welcome Sunday at First Presbyterian Church as we process with waving palms branches to celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

The Chancel Choir will sing the anthem, “Is This The King?” by Joseph Martin, Jon Waits will serve as liturgist, and Ann Fenimore will serve as organist playing the festive prelude, “The Royal Banners” by J. Mansfield and postlude, “Ballade” by S. Walters.

Rev. Dena Vittorio will preach from Philippians 2:5-11; her sermon, “Why Did He Do This?” will explore how Jesus could humble himself as a servant who would sacrifice all for love’s sake. When does love require such a sacrifice from you?

Join us on Maundy Thursday, as we share around the table with Jesus in his last supper. David Doyle will sing as cantor with the Chancel Choir, “Eat This Bread” and Connie Martin will send us out into the darkness of Jesus’ last evening by singing the haunting “Via Dolorosa,” known as “the way of suffering.”
