RUSHVILLE — Community Thanksgiving Services

Community Thanksgiving Services at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Knightstown were announced this week by the Knightstown Ministerial Association. The public is invited to attend this special event at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18.

The offering for the evening will be donated to the Cheer Guild. Canned goods for the Community Food Pantry will also be collected. Come and enjoy an evening of music, a special message and give thanks for this special season.



The Gathering

Free bowling sponsored by The Gathering as a fun community outing, 4-6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, Rushville Lanes. Space is limited. Must call to reserve a spot, 765-561-1134. Children under 12 must have adult present.

Faith Baptist Church - Morristown

Faith Baptist Church is holding an all church work day on Saturday, Nov. 17, with donuts and juice from 9 a.m. to noon. Projects will be completed before the holidays and winter weather arrives.

Sunday, Nov. 18, Dr. Wayne Scott will continue teaching a series during Sunday school on “Tragedy and Triumph: The Life of Job” at 9:30 a.m., followed by the morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. A pitch-in lunch is at noon with the afternoon worship service at 1 p.m. at Morristown Manor Nursing Home.

Tuesday, Nov. 20, will be the Thanksgiving praise service at 7 p.m. There will not be a Wednesday prayer and Bible study on Nov. 21 due to the holiday on Thursday.

Saturday, Dec. 1 will be the ladies Christmas tea at noon at Rachel Scott’s home in Morristown. The ladies will be collecting nonperishable food items for the Christmas baskets, as well as candy for the children’s Christmas bags. During the luncheon the ladies will reveal their 2012 secret pals and fill out the paperwork for the 2013 Advent Angels prayer partners. R.S.V.P. to Rachel Scott or Jane Smith by Wednesday, Nov. 28.

The annual children’s Christmas pageant will be held during the morning worship services at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9.

The Morristown Manor Nursing Home Christmas program will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.

The annual adult Christmas program will take place Sunday, Dec. 23, at 10:30 a.m. with the choir singing during the drama.

The Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24 at the church.

A new small group Bible study will begin from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 13 at various homes in the community. Enrollment is currently underway at the church. Contact Dr. Wayne Scott for more information at (765) 763-7657.
