Organ concert this evening

Following the recent overhaul of the inner workings of the organ console at Main Street Christian Church, a rededication event is set for 7 p.m. tonight in the MSCC sanctuary. The guest organist for the event is Martin Ellis.

Mr. Ellis serves as Organist and Associate Director of Music for North United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, has worked as an arranger and at the keyboard with the renowned Indianapolis Children’s Choir.

Martin is a native of Indianapolis where he appears frequently with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and has been a past guest in the ISO Yuletide Celebration in December. Mr. Ellis has been a featured artist at conventions of The American Guild of Organists, The Organ Historical Society, and The American Theatre Organ Society.

Mr. Ellis’ concerts include a wide repertoire of selections and styles in both traditional classical and theater organ. The public is invited and encouraged to attend the concert.

Main Street Christian Church

Main Street Christian Church enters its fourth week of the spiritual growth series “Not a Fan” with the message and lesson “The Comfortable Cross.” The six-week series by bestselling author Kyle Idleman explores through the differences between a relationship with Jesus Christ that has the description of a fan and that by a committed follower.

This Sunday the congregation will introduce and recognize their recent high school and college graduate with a PowerPoint tribute and the presentation of gifts on behalf of the congregation. A reception will be held following the 10:30 a.m. service.

Main Street Christian Church continues to register children for their VBS, Son Treasure Island, set for June 15-19. The nightly event will begin each evening at 5:28 p.m. with a light supper and will conclude at 8 p.m. On Friday evening, June 20, closing program, outdoor Luau and movie will be held. Those desiring to register children may phone the church office at 932-2997.
