Main Street Christian Church
Main Street Christian Church will have one combined service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The combined service will include a congregation meeting where a newly revised constitution and bylaws will be presented to the congregation for ratification.
Immediately following the service, a brunch will be hosted by the Stewardship and Finance Team and the Elders. Donations for the brunch will go to the youth fund for equipment, materials, and supplies for the expansion of the church’s youth ministry.
Sunday’s post Easter message, “Pushing out into the Deep” with scripture study from Luke 5: 1-11 focuses on Jesus’ instruction to the disciple Peter to put down his fishing needs in deep water and the risk it takes to trust Jesus Christ.
Beginning Sunday, May 11, Main Street Christian Church will follow the six week series “Not A Fan” by Kyle Idleman. A small group experience will be offered following study materials for “Not a Fan” during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday School hour. Persons who would desire a book to be order for them may phone the church office at 932-2997. Books and devotional guides are $9 each.
The public is invited to attend all of these opportunities.
First Baptist Church
Doubting Thomas. You may have heard someone call someone else that name or even been called it yourself. The name refers to someone who has a difficult time believing that something is true unless they can directly experience it themselves. It originally comes from the disciple of Jesus who refused to believe that Jesus had risen from the dead unless he could see and touch Him himself.
We may come down hard on Thomas, but if we are honest, we have all experienced doubts at one time or another. The question is, what do we do in the midst of those doubts? There is a healthy way to deal with them, and there is another way that can lead to devastating consequences. Would you like to know more? Come to First Baptist Church this Sunday and join us as we learn from Jesus’ interaction with Thomas. We start at 9:30am and would love to see you.
