Do you have a giant in your life? The thing in our lives that is bigger than we can take on. Like resentment, fear, depression, alcoholism. The list is endless and we all confront them. They appear big because we can’t defeat them on our own. Only with God’s help can we bring them down.

Samson had his giant and his was name was Goliath (I Samuel 17). In this story there is a lot more at stake than just a little man defeating a big man. This is a picture of the great struggles that are taking place in our lives right now.

These giants distract us; detour us; and drain us of being everything God intends for us to be. The problems we face are the platform where God can show how wonderful He is. Just recall all the battles that God has brought you through to this point in your life.

Do you see your giants as problems or possibilities? David brought Goliath down because he knew his God was bigger than Goliath. Are you willing to let the giant in your life define who you are or who your God is?
