“That really hit the spot!” You might say this when you have a good meal and it satisfies a particular desire or craving. Then there are other times when you eat and, you may even be full, but you are not satisfied. It surely did not “hit the spot.” So you go searching for that perfect food or drink that satiates your desire.
Life can be like this experience with food. You are living, but not satisfied with life. You may have even tried different experiences to satisfy that inner longing. You’ve looked to relationships, success on your job, another educational degree, or money. Yet somehow these things leave you still wanting more and asking, “Is this all there is?”
If you feel like this, you are not alone. Long ago there was someone who “had it all,” yet still felt empty. His conclusion? Come and join us at First Baptist Church at 9:30 a.m. this Sunday when we will look at what resolved the issue for him. His conclusion can “hit the spot” for you, too!
