RUSHVILLE — First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church joyfully welcomes all to our Easter Worship to experience God’s grace as we follow the Light of Christ!

As worship begins, Harrison Wicker and Sarai Moore will carry in the Christ Light, as the children follow with the Cross of Life, to our organist’s triumphant processional “Jubilee!” by C. Martin.

After these long, somber weeks of Lent we shall gather singing the uplifting words of “He Lives!”

Liturgist Rick Levi will lead us in proclaiming “Christ is risen, indeed!”

The Chancel Choir will sing the jubilant anthem, “Christ Arose!” by Lowny and Kirkland.

Ann Fenimore will also play the beloved hymn, “Morning Has Broken” for offertory and “The Strife is Over” for postlude.

Lisa Bare will remind us of ways to express our gratitude to God through the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering.

Pastor Dena Vittorio will preach from the Resurrection Gospel of Luke 24, in a message titled, “To See With New Eyes!” Yes, it is a Sunday for exclamation points, as we shout out our hidden “Alleluias!” buried since Ash Wednesday.

When the women followers of Jesus were utterly without hope, love compelled them to go to the tomb and be the first witnesses of the Resurrection. Love opens the door to new life for those who could never be convinced by logic and debate. Easter is God’s love story for you!
