---- — First Baptist Church

I don’t really enjoy the frigid temperatures we have experienced this winter, but there is one thing nice about them. On some of the coldest nights, the sky seems to be crystal clear. You can see the stars and moon unlike many other nights and they create quite a scene to look at. The scene can be a paradox, though. The stars appear to be so close to us, yet are so far away.

Some people look at God like the evening sky. They like to “look” at Him in their mind’s eye where He appears to be close, yet He seems so far away. The Scripture tells us He is not far from each one of us, though. Would you like to draw near Him and know Him better? Come to First Baptist Church this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. when we will be talking about how to draw near to God. We would love to see you.

A New Year Means a New Checkbook

If we’re going to live by God’s Word, we’ve got to live by the whole Book. That means, when it comes to finances, we need to open up our checkbook and our Bible and lay them side by side and make sure that what we’re doing in our finances is consistent with someone who is fully committed to living all out for Jesus.

The next few weeks we’re going to be learn how it’s impossible to serve two masters. How powerful source money can be. It’s the LOVE of money that’s the root of all evil, not money itself. We’ll learn how money can expand or limit our options, and how our money MUST be managed. Our management requires a plan, a plan that leads wise people to save money.

Please visit us at Plum Creek Christian Church and learn how God manages our lives in every way possible including how our checkbooks reflect His love for us and our obedience to Him. God bless and see you Sunday.
