Church Briefs

(Continued)

This Sunday, the fourth Sunday of Advent, worship begins with the lighting of the “Candle of Love” by Eva Vanatta and Evelyn Miller. The message by Pastor Dena Vittorio will focus on God’s extraordinary love that knows what it is like to be refused shelter and thus sent Christ to become our home. May you find a gracious, spiritual home with us at First Presbyterian Church!

Main Street Christian Church announces its Christmas Eve services at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

The 7 p.m. Christmas Eve service will be one with the singing of carols, special solos, candle lighting and musical numbers, several shared by those from the Rushville Community. Scripture readings will follow the 2013 MSCC Advent and Christmas Theme: A Community Christmas” and the weekly themes of Light, Peace, Joy, and the Good Shepherd.

The late night Christmas Eve service, 11 p.m., will be a traditional service of scripture readings, carols, a message from Pastor Sam Davenport, Communion, prayer and candle lighting.

Communion will be served at only the 11 p.m. service and a nursery attendant is available for babies and toddlers at the 7 p.m. service.
