RUSHVILLE — The community is invited to the Ordination into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament for Marena Vittorio Schindler at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 at First Presbyterian Church, 226 North Morgan Street.

Marena graduated from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in May with her Master of Divinity Degree and has been called to her first pastorate beginning Oct. 1. She will be serving the Delaware County Trinity Covenant, three small congregations located in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains in New York. Her husband, Garrett Schindler, is the pastor of Bovina Center Presbyterian Church in a neighboring community.

Special music for the Sept. 23 Ordination will be provided by local and family musicians including Mary Jane Truster and Ann Fenimore playing organ/piano duets, vocalists David Doyle, Connie Martin and Blake Kendall, and flautists JoBeth Martin and Trudi Ellison-Kendall.

Marena is the daughter of the Rev. Dena Vittorio and Dennis Simmons.

A Celebration Fellowship will be hosted by the Deacons following the service.
