First Baptist Church

Andrew Phipps, inspirational speaker, will present "Faith, Family, and Freedom," about getting back to the Christian values and principles upon which our country was founded. Mr. Phipps will present his program at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, 1431 West U.S. 52, Rushville.

Plum Creek Christian Church

“Worship or Worry”

Worry is one of Satan’s most powerful tools to keep us from truly living for God! We have a choice, even chronic worriers have a choice, to worship or worry. When we are tempted to worry, we must always remember God is in control. He spoke the earth into existence. He formed the dry land, gathered the water and gave it its boundaries. He causes the sun to shine and the rain to fall. When we are tempted to worry, we must remember we belong to God. This same God who created the heaven and the earth knows us by name! He has even numbered the hairs on our head. When a sparrow falls to the ground he knows, and he tells us how much more valued we are to him than a bird. When we are tempted to worry it saddens God. When we choose to worry and not worship, we disconnect from our Creator. We need to walk with God. We need to get our perspective right. We need to take our eyes off the problem and lift our eyes to the problem solver! The next time you are tempted to worry which will you choose, worship or worry?
